The original 1176 was designed by the legendary Bill Putnam in 1968, and it’s one of the most famous compressors of all time. It has undergone many revisions, many of which are cosmetic or had to do with circuitry that didn’t involve the audio path. Lady Lamb is practically considered royalty here in Boston. She’s paid her dues around the local circuit, and is finally shining as brightly as she warned us she would when she hit the scene a few years back. Her latest effort, Ripely Pine, is saturated with elements of what a female songstress should embody: elegance, craftsmanship, and above all else–attitude. It’s not her fault she makes it look easy.
