Sheri Miller
Winning Hand EP
New York, NY

“Fast, fresh and fun”

Sheri Miller is a breath of fresh air, whose sweet voice carries a strong and cheerful approach to the music.  With a striking resemblance to the Starland Vocal Band of the mid 1970s, her sparkling tunes carry a happy tempo with a concise and rolling pace. Opener “Spoons” is a prime example; it is inspiring and induces joy from the start.  The title track “Winning Hand” is a blend of rock and pop – the soothing and charming vocals fit the guitar style, which brings to mind the great George Harrison.

This EP is solid from start to finish, demonstrating Miller’s obvious talent and songwriting abilities.  “Satellite” and “Hungry for the Truth” are pleasant songs of love, life and determination.  Tasteful harmonies and melodies blend smoothly within the tight and clean mixes, a mixture of instrumental themes with Miller’s breathy vocals are layered in all the right spots throughout the record.  If this were an earlier time of AM radio, Miller would be a star.  It’s refreshing to hear an artist who has a focus and understanding of their own style and can deliver it well.  Sheri Miller has compiled a nice package and has a winning hand for sure.
