Grace Joyner – ‘Maybe Sometimes in C’ Album Review and Stream

Many artists tackle the topics of heartbreak, longing and acceptance, but Grace Joyner brings a captivating and unwavering determination to the process. Her new album Maybe Sometimes in C. (out now on Hearts + Plugs) is a lyrically charged and skillfully composed story of personal growth.

The record opens with “Maybe Sometimes,” a haunting a cappella plea for unrequited love and progresses into organ-fueled musings on a relationship gone wrong on “Dreams.” The soundtrack to her journey ends with “Call You Up,” an anthem for moving forward founded on synth beats and snare hits.

While Joyner is not exploring unchartered territory here, her delivery and insight is truly mesmerizing and inspiring.
