On tour with Frameworks and Pianos Become The Teeth for the last few days of October, New Jersey’s post-rock/emo quintet Gates played to a sold-out Middle East Upstairs room in Cambridge last night. They recently released their full-length debut album Bloom & Breathe on Pure Noise Records. With beautifully layered guitars and strong yet dream-like vocals, they take the early ’00s emo sound and mix it with the technicality of post-rock. It shouldn’t be too long before this band is headlining their own shows.
