YO! I am the ideal candidate to get the hook up for two badges to CMJ! I’m flying in from Atlanta and will be trying to jump start the new label I just launched with my partner, Paten Locke called FULL PLATE – it’s boutique, classically rooted hiphop, and we’ve got releases on deck from Diamond D, Supa Dave West and more – this would be just the gift we would need to be able to make an impact. Thanks for your time! Peace!

CMJ! What an incredible opportunity. I’m at the beginning of a career and music and exposure to the incredible array of panels and shows that comprise CMJ would be an invaluable networking and career development opportunity – plus a very special trip for someone who’s decided to make a career in the music industry because of a deep-seated love for live music. I’ve heard for the past couple years what a fun, productive, overwhelming, and inspiring experience CMJ’s NYC-takeover-style presence is, and I’m determined not to miss out this year! Performer, your help would mean the world to me.

This is the opportunity of a lifetime for me. I go to school in Nashville, TN at Belmont University. I am majoring in Songwriting and Music Business. I was accepted into the Belmont East program, which involves students living in New York for the semester while interning and taking music business classes. I am so excited about the opportunity to live in New York and CMJ is one of my biggest dreams. I love studying about music business, and as an independent artist I know that CMJ is a great chance for college radio stations and indie artists to expand their connections. It is also a great time to connect and network with fellow industry people. I am in New York to learn as much as possible and my passion for music goes beyond myself as an artist. I love to see other artists succeed and this semester I have had to opportunity to intern at a successful indie label. The reason why this is so important to me is because I recently co-founded an independent label in Nashville, TN called Science Camp Records. I am humbled by the opportunity to be able to work under people have have such great knowledge of the industry. This opportunity to go to CMJ would be so exciting, not only for me, but for those who go to my school as well. One of my goals for the upcoming semester is to help found a radio station for our school. It is something we desperately need. We have incredible music business, songwrting, and music programs, a radio station we be great for our campus. CMJ would be the perfect place to learn what I need to make this goal possible. I love what CMJ does not only for artists and radio stations, but for the fans and those who want to learn as much as possible about this incredible industry.

I have made travel plans to be in NYC for CMJ even though I don’t have badges. I am a promoter out of San Antonio and attend SXSW every year, including putting on my own unofficial showcase. I would like to attend the CMJ events to see how it differs from SXSW and be able to provide that information to those I work with. I have also recently started a non-profit, a recording community exchange program. The panels this year really offer some great insight that could be utilized in both my ventures. The truth is, I really want to attend CMJ because I am a music fan.

Equipped with a mighty badge, I shall see and hear all of the music. Not some impressive fraction of the music, nor some repeating-decimal percentage infinitely approaching 100% of the music, but rather: ALL OF THE MUSIC. The totality of the music! I will hunt the music–whether some world-beat-inspired hip-hop or a jazzy singer-songwriter–out of its peaceful cave and devour it with a greedy vengeance that can mean only one thing: CMJ Music Marathon 2013! My ears should beware, for I shall be deafeningly satiated on the cascading bounty of the rock lords! RARRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

I love catching live music whenever I can, especially during CMJ when the concentration of up and coming acts is particularly great. I promise I will make good use of these passes.

CMJ is always my favorite week of the year. I have gone every year since 2006 and have seen some of the most amazing shows of my life there and attended life-changing panels. My favorite thing about CMJ is how you can sit on a couch all day in some random studio space above a Chinese restaurant in the financial district and watch the entire crowd change over 9 times as different musicians come in and out while you drink redbulls all day. Some of the bands that truly saved my life were found that way – would love the chance to attend another CMJ!

I am a recent college grad that is currently employed with a concert promoter in PA. Breaking into the industry was only half that battle, however. It’s a competitive industry that requires being “in-the-know’ and smart decision-making. Therefore, I want to soak up all the industry knowledge I can during the panels and catch as many shows as possible. I cut my teeth on music knowledge by putting myself out there and making connections. I can’t think of a better place to do this than at CMJ. Besides the work experience, show and panel hopping sounds like an absolute blast! Live music is my passion and it would be fun to dedicate a few whole days to it. Thanks for your consideration!
