To celebrate the launch of its new evolution wireless D1 digital microphone series, Sennheiser is announcing a contest to find the ultimate cover version of “The One and Only,” the classic pop song by Chesney Hawkes. 50,000 euros worth of brilliant prizes can be won, with the top entrant winning their very own professionally produced music video, a new recording of their cover PLUS ew D1 systems for their band.
BONUS: the first 20 valid entries will receive an evolution wireless D1 vocal set, as will the ten best covers as voted by the public.
The ultimate winner and runners-up will be selected by a jury of industry experts from among the 20 best entries shortlisted by a public vote. Jury members include “The One and Only” songwriter Nik Kershaw, Anastasia Schoeck of Imagem Music, Sennheiser CEO Andreas Sennheiser, and Joel Cassady of Walk off the Earth – a band whose own covers are the stuff of YouTube legend.
Interpret the song in your own unique style, record a video of your performance and upload it to YouTube. Then simply visit www.sennheiser-D1.com to submit your entry. The competition will be open until midnight on May 10, 2015.
Then, through May 19, visitors to the Sennheiser contest page can vote for their favorite cover version. The 20 performances with the most votes will be announced on May 20th and will go through to the final round. The jury will then proceed to judge the entries according to musical quality, unique style and authentic performance.
The grand-prize winner and runner-ups will be announced on June 1, 2015. Good luck!
