We’re really excited to premiere the newest music video and single from Buffalo, NY garage rock-turned-post punk band Sleepy Hahas. The “Deep River” video is a bizarre smattering of psychedelic cartoons that seem to chronicle the opening of a portal to Hell. Enjoy!

ABOUT SLEEPY HAHAS
Sleepy Hahas is a psychedelic garage rock band from Buffalo, NY started in 2011 by lifelong friends Pat Butler (vocals/guitar) and Phil Shore (piano/organ). They grew up with a mutual love of and influence by The Flaming Lips, David Bowie, MGMT, Arctic Monkeys, and The White Stripes, and set out to meld together an expansive, groove based sound that is uniquely their own. The end of 2014 saw Boston, MA native Kevin Pryles join as their bassist, and the natural live chemistry is palpable. With an unwavering focus on songwriting, recording, and touring, Sleepy Hahas has recorded two EPs and two full length LPs, working with widely acclaimed producers and engineers for each.

The culmination of this creative process is seen in their most recent forthcoming LP From the Bottom of a Warm Lake, which was just produced, engineered, and mixed by Drew Vandenberg (of Montreal, Deerhunter, Toro y Moi). The record is an 11 song, immersive, and cohesive experience that leads the listener through the deepest worlds of the Hahas’ imaginations, on a quest through the oblivion that is life and death. The album has seen them taking greater risks than ever, but in doing so, creating a sound that is completely their own.

They have established themselves as a well-renowned local powerhouse with their fine-tuned live performance as well as playing hundreds of shows regionally including tours to cities like New York, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Toledo, and more. This extensive tour history has lead them to opening slots for the likes of Cloud Nothings, Beach Fossils, Diarrhea Planet, Man Man, Rough Francis, Eternal Summers, Kopecki Family Band, and more.
