His unwavering love and appreciation for real hip hop is illuminated in his collection of his mixtapes and records; 2009’s The Salvation showcased Skyzoo’s sharp lyrical proficiency as well as the rapper’s craftsmanship and depth. Nothing has changed on his latest record, Music For My Friends, released this past June. On Friends, Skyzoo hits his stride with evanescent imagery that is a by-product from writing with a guarded remove. When he performs at Boston’s Hard Rock Café tomorrow night, it will be nothing short of mesmerizing.
