The Life & Death Of Scenery
(Adult Swim and Mello Music Group)

Boston’s Boom Bap torchbearer Mr. Lif melds minds with Carolina sample-smith L’Orange to spin more of his signature black suede conceptual mindscapes. Lif, best known for his work with El-P’s Def Jux Label and L’Orange, who first mad a slash with instrumental albums Old Soul and Mad Writer, are a perfectly matched stylistic duo.

The Life and Death of Land Of Scenery is bottom heavy/lush/jazzy and experimental, birthing something wholly familiar to a real hip-hop head, while at the same time taking long yoga stretches into untried musical territory. Featuring narration from comic Wyatt Cenac and Lif’s Perceptionists partner in rhyme Acrobatic, the new LP is available now through a partnership with Mello Music Group and Adult Swim.
