Hopscotch Music Festival, North Carolina’s largest and most diverse music event, returns to downtown Raleigh Sept. 4-6, 2014. With more than 600 bands performing and 75,000 fans attending since its inception in 2010, Hopscotch is increasingly recognized as one of the best and most unique weekends for live music in America.
Tickets for Hopscotch 2014 go on sale March 1st at www.hopscotchmusicfest.com and www.etix.com. There will be a pre-sale for Hopscotch Mailing List members on February 27 & 28. To learn more, please visit Hopscotch’s latest website post.
Through thoughtful programming and a belief that music should be experienced in an environment that suits the artist, Hopscotch pairs an eclectic mix of national and international guests with the Triangle’s best local talent. In four years, the festival has hosted Public Enemy, The Flaming Lips, The Roots, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Spiritualized, Guided by Voices, Broken Social Scene, Drive-by Truckers, Built to Spill, and hundreds more. Additionally, rare sets by John Cale, Merzbow, Rhys Chatham, Sunn O))), Sleep, The Mountain Goats, Big Daddy Kane, Lonnie Holley, and more have made Hopscotch a destination for music fans seeking performances seldom presented at other festivals.
Hopscotch’s initial lineup will be released in April and updates throughout the year can be found at http://twitter.com/hopscotchfest and Facebook. Here is a sampling of press from Hopscotch 2013:
