Some Army’s latest release, a full-length album entitled One Stone and Too Many Birds, has a definite indie rock vibe. The songs are gentle and the lyrics float through the musical landscape that they have painted with harmonious melodies. The combination of vox, guitar, bass and synth results in an elevated, well-textured sound. The clean drum beats and bass lines complement each other well and bring out the underlying melody of each track. The song “Theme for the Birds” is the embodiment of the album; Some Army is able to give the feeling of clarity and enlightenment without vocals.
