ALBUM REVIEW: “Disquiet” by Therapy?

therapy? disquiet

Quite simply put: the new Therapy? album Disquiet is a melodic punk metal masterpiece (and I’m not just saying that because they happen to be my favorite band of all time).

Its energetic, catchy and gloomy atmosphere keeps you hooked from beginning to end. The album’s opening track “Still Hurts” certainly sets the mood – demanding your full attention with its heavy, punky sound and somber lyrics that speak volumes about traumatic childhood experiences that haunt you well into your adulthood – causing damaging, emotional scars. A few other standout tracks include “Tides,” “Vulgar Display of Powder,” and “Torment Sorrow Misery Strife.”

In fact, every song on this album has such captivatingly honest lyrical content that it’s impossible not to compare them to experiences we’ve all had at one point or another. Disquiet is an insightful, dark, brilliant record and it has my vote for album of the year.
