Today Performer is psyched to premiere the first in a three-part series chronicling the making of the new Hollis Brown album, 3 Shots. The New York rock band is one of our faves, and these clips provide a fascinating look behind-the-scenes with commentary from the musicians, producers and managers who played a role in its creation.
Check out the audio below, and sound off in the comments section to let us know what you think!

MORE ON HOLLIS BROWN
Their album 3 shots, released May 5, features collaborations with Nikki Lane (Highway One) and Bo Diddley (Rain Dance). The Diddley Estate were such big fans of the band they gave Hollis Brown an unfinished song to make their own. The band went into Converse’s Rubber Tracks and finished the song in a day (story on that HERE ).
To support the album the band traveled down to Austin to play SXSW, and along the way played two shows with their good friend the Zombies. The show they did with the Zombies in New Orleans was broadcast live via Live Nation and Yahoo Music. Down at SXSW they played Adam Duritz’s Outlaw Roadshow, Rachael Ray’s Feedback House along with shows with the Deli Radio, Desert Nights and sessions with Consequence of Sound, and Jam in the Van.
They’ll be hitting the road with the Counting Crows this fall on a 33 date tour to support the album before heading to Europe, where the record comes out June 12.
