“Seventh heaven of punk”
Harder, Fatter and Louder is the seventh installment of the famous compilation series from Fat Wreck Chords. It’s jam packed with choice cuts from some classic bands that long time Fat fans will surely recognize, and also includes some great songs from newer artists that have been picked up by label owner, Fat Mike and his crew. Established acts on this 22-song compilation include veterans NoFX, The Lawrence Arms, Swingin’ Utters and Chixdiggit (new album due out soon), who provide the catchy “Miso Ramen.”

New to the scene are bands such as Old Man Markley, who open the compilation with a blend of country infused folk-punk on the track “For Better For Worse.” Teenage Bottlerocket had their first Fat release back in 2009 and this comp provides a taste of what they have to offer with their hit “Skate or Die.”

Fat Wreck Chords continues to prove they are still a relevant source of solid punk rock, ska, reggae, and maybe even a little country. They provide 22 songs that will be enough to please your palate, but may leave you wanting to taste more from several artists’ catalogs. All in all, this collection is a great way to introduce someone to the punk genre as a whole, but it also holds the attention of the long time punk fan. (Fat Wreck Chords)
