I should win these beautiful monitors because I am a jazz singer and videographer and I’m currently engaged in creating a video web series about the music and art scene in Pittsburgh, PA. It is my goal to showcase the art and music culture in all of it’s diversity. To this end I am interning at Mr Smalls Theatre in Millvale where I shoot and edit video of local and national artists and I’m also producing my own shows featuring a diverse selection of local artists and capturing that footage for inclusion in my pilot season. A pair of these monitors would enable me to hear and edit the soundtrack with incredible clarity. Thank you for your superior audio engineering and thank you also for considering my entry into your contest.

As an Indie band without corporate means, finding amazing, high quality sound for our home studio is almost impossible. We work extraordinarliy hard to produce high quality music and mixing on car audio speakers is just embarrasing. Grateful to Performer mag and mackie for this contest. Even little faith is faith enough!

The sand in the hourglass is a little lower every day. I am a performing artist who has a robust catalog of original songs that need to be recorded. I’ve been shopping recording studios lately and have come to the conclusion that the price tag is a little bit steep for me to be able to go that route right now. I already have most of the pieces for a decent home studio, but I lack a good set of monitors for mixing. So many people asking me for copies of my music… I gotta get it done! This would be a tremendous help! Thank you for offering this amazing giveaway!

I should win these because it is the only piece of gear holding me back from recording my music and sharing it with the world

There is absolutely no good reason for me to win these Mackie MR6mk3 Monitors. There are more talented guitar players and certainly more gifted singers/musicians out there who have struggled for a long time to perfect their craft. They too would really like to win this give away. However, I would like to set up my own home/studio recording capabilities, and these would certainly help the cause.

I’d love them because I’m currently mixing on cans and the album I’m working on really deserves to be heard in its natural tone… and these monitors are awesome!! Thanks for the chance!

I have a pair of monitors, but they are inaccurate and tedious to listen to for extended periods. I could use these Mackie’s, as Mackie monitors (even the less expensive ones) are very high quality and trustworthy.

Why I should get a pair of these bad-ass monitors.Well I suppose just like everyone else I could use them to monitor my guitar on the PC to replace those little ones that came with my acer desktop

Winning a pair of Mackie monitors would be so awesome. They would go to a great home and help me express my musical talent. I have been without my RM450 for a few years since it’s packed up in storage in another state. I have always enjoyed the crisp clarity of every note coming from any Mackie I’ve heard. Oh also your mom would love me to have them.

    Thank you for your time.

I desperately need to replace my monitors. I am about to mix down my new CD and I need to have an incredible pair of monitors to ensure a quality product. This is the piece of gear that I need to round out my home studio as well as solidify my sound / mix choices. Please Please Please!!! I would love to win these.

After 30+ years of playing and many years of recording in other studios, I’m finally going to put my own home studio together. I have a whole list of endeavors just waiting to be done…My first solo cd, another band cd, integrate the studio into my teaching business by putting together teaching materials and also Skype lessons, and possibly getting some ad work from the local radio stations. I’m reinventing how I approach my business of making music, and having a home studio will be the centerpiece. Over the years I have loved using Mackie products for my live performances and look forward to incorporating them into my home studio. Mackie is surely going to help this old dog show off some new tricks!

The Mackie MR6mk3 monitors have a accurate frequency response and natural sound
Mackie has truly shown that the engineer team took special care and time in the design of these monitors
they boast many recording attributes needed in the studio for sound mixing reinforcement
The most important tool in the studio is to have natural sounding monitors to obtain the correct mix
I’m absolutly sure these monitors would be an important and excellent tool in my recording studio.

    Regards

Can’t say we deserve them more than anyone else, but if you listen to some of our free music on our website (just click over and your on) you’ll see why. As a poor indie band who create dense arrangements the old, borrowed NS-10’s just didn’t cut it. My dream monitors are your HR824’s(now mk2) but we will never be able to afford them…..and eat. So we would do you proud with our next (way better all around)album and cross promote infinitely. Thanks for listening, our music is always free unless someone wishes to purchase and then it’s available everywhere.

After my Event 20/20 monitors crapped out on me, I ended up picking up a pair of M-Audio Bx5’s. While these monitors have a decent sound, they definitely do not pick up the bass like I need them to, to keep mixing competitively with the other studios around. Winning this contest would put me right back in the game!

I need it. I’m 20 years old music producer (Electro, Progressive House) with a lot of distinctions from many talented and known producers and dj’s. I have no money even for basic studio monitors.
Actually I create music on the cheapest audio speakers… I need these monitors so much. It will open the way for me to be huge in future and making music much better than at present. (Mix and Mastering)

These monitors sound like something I can only dream about. My poor Religious community cannot afford something like thiss. I have a little home studio in a corner room in our library. These monitors would be great there.

I should win these monitors because… I live in a house of 6 on a lower-middle class income. Music is been all I have ever wanted to do for about 8 of the 15 years of my life. I produce mainly electronic music, but I make rock music with my dad, and offer mixing and mastering to my friend who makes rock/pop music. I use some lower level headphones and speakers at the moment. The main reason my family is so strapped for cash? My mother. three years ago my mother was diagnosed with cancer in the liver, which spread the lungs quickly. She goes in regularly *every two weeks) for chemo therapy. She gets full disability, but still has to support 3 children, and 2 non working adults (along with my stepdad’s income). We pay for our food with food stamps, and the rest goes towards bills and a car payment. I can’t afford a cell phone, or any other luxuries. I think I have the talent to sell my music, but these monitors would really help me take my mix the the next level so that I can actually do it and relieve some of the financial stress in my household.

Why should I get a pair of these bad-ass monitors?

I shouldn’t. You should definitely pick somebody else. Just because I need them isn’t a good enough reason for you to hook me up. Just because my current monitors are lame-ass isn’t a good enough reason for me to score them from you. Even the fact that Aloe Blacc has publicly admitted that I am the man, yes I am, isn’t a good enough reason for you to choose me. Now the fact that I was seduced by a sexy woman who ended up being an organ thief and I am now missing my gallbladder and pancreas is a good argument in my favor. But I’m not going to play that card just for a pair of those bad-ass monitors.

I need these pretty bad, & I am not in a position to be able to buy them any time soon. I’m a hopelessly broke Musician, with a list a mile long of studio gear I need. Thanks for a shot.

I am trying to finally get more work mixing after a year of internships/research and sitting in with better mixing engineers then me.
Learning better techniques and having new monitors would help me greatly.
I need good monitors so I can create a good mix
