Audio-Technica Introduces 2000 Series
Uhf True Diversity Wireless Systems
Audio-Technica announces the new 2000 Series UHF True Diversity Wireless Microphone Systems, the company’s latest entry in its extensive line of professional wireless systems. The 2000 Series is a 10-channel frequency-agile UHF wireless system designed to suit a variety of applications, including MI/live performance, fixed installation, public address, A/V rental houses, and places of worship. It offers true diversity operation, easy setup, automatic frequency scanning with interference-free performance, and all the advantages of a high-quality, professional wireless system at an extremely affordable price.

The 2000 Series is comprised of two system options: the ATW-2110 UHF UniPak™ Transmitter System, consisting of the ATW-R2100 true diversity receiver and the ATW-T210 UniPak body-pack transmitter; and the ATW-2120 UHF Handheld Dynamic Microphone System, which also includes the ATW-R2100 receiver, plus the ATW-T220 handheld microphone/transmitter. The ATW-T220 microphone is engineered with the same capsule as Audio-Technica’s acclaimed PRO 41 microphone, providing a focused vocal pickup while offering superior gain before feedback.
The ATW-T220 handheld microphone/transmitter features the same resilient capsule as A-T’s popular PRO 41 Cardioid Dynamic Microphone. This element assembly, part of the R & D for A-T’s acclaimed PRO Series, was specifically designed with high-performance specifications in mind for clarity, volume, and durability. Providing a natural, focused vocal pickup while supplying excellent feedback rejection, its internal shock mounting reduces handling noise, making the ATW-T220 ideal for close-up vocal use in live performance settings. Whether used as a handheld mic or mounted on a microphone stand, the ATW-T220 handheld microphone/transmitter excels by virtue of its rugged metal construction, the included AT8456a Quiet-Flex® stand clamp, and extended battery life — approximately nine hours, powered by two 1.5V AA batteries.
The Audio-Technica 2000 Series UHF True Diversity Wireless Microphone Systems are now available with MSRPs as follows:
ATW-2110 UHF UniPak Transmitter System — $429.00
ATW-2120 UHF Handheld Dynamic Microphone System — $499.00
New Peavey Cs® Series Amps: Leaner, Louder & Lighter Than Ever
Peavey introduces six newly redesigned CS Series power amplifiers, the two-channel CS 1400, CS 2000, CS 3000, CS 4000 and CS 4080 HZ, plus the four-channel CS 800x4.
Building on the reputation of the world-famous Peavey CS 800, which conquered the power amp market in the 1970s, the CS Series is the global standard bearer for workhorse reliability. Over the years, these amps have benefited from some of Peavey's most popular audio innovations, including our exclusive DDT* compression/anti-clipping protection. With its 2RU design and power points up to 4080 Watts, this latest evolution of the CS Series is leaner, louder and lighter than ever.
Peavey is giving the pro audio world even more reasons to choose the CS Series, including 14 power transistors per channel on the CS 3000, CS 4000 and CS 4080, nearly twice the number found in more expensive competitors. The four-channel CS 800x4 gives you twice as much power for the dollar and utilizes wire-bonded hybrid technology, while the CS 1400 and CS 2000 are built with overgrown heat sinks for more efficient tunnel cooling. All CS power amps include toroidal power transistors for lighter weight and increased power.
The front panel display includes LED indicators for signal presence and DDT active, as well as individual power LEDs that extinguish under fault conditions. CS amps also feature circuitry to protect against shorts, improper loads, abrupt turn-on levels, high temperatures, DC and subsonic frequencies that could damage loudspeakers. To ensure cool operating temperatures, we've included two dual-speed cooling fans on the CS 1400 and CS 2000; two variable-speed cooling fans on the CS 3000, CS 4000 and CS 4080 HZ; and one variable-speed cooling fan on the CS 800x4. CS amps ship with XLR-1/4" combination inputs; binding post, Speakon® and IEC mains connector outputs; and our strong five-year warranty.
The new CS Series power amplifiers will be available from authorized Peavey dealers in 2005. For more info, visit www.peavey.com.
Hp* Special Guitar Commemorates 40 Years Of Innovation
Peavey introduces two HP Special guitars, a continuation of the well-received, high-end HP Signature Series that Peavey unveiled in 2004. HP guitars are named for Peavey's founder and sole owner, Hartley Peavey, in celebration of the company's 40 years of innovation.
Augmenting the modern refinement of the HP Signature Series with true rock guitar features, our new HP Special guitars include Floyd Rose®-licensed, double-locking tremolos, coil tap-equipped HP Signature humbuckers and an offset basswood body with a sculpted neck joint for access to the upper frets. HP Special guitars also include our oil-finished, asymmetrical birdseye maple neck with graphite reinforcement and precision Schaller® tuning keys; master volume and tone knobs; a three-way pickup selector; and transparent and solid finish options. Rosewood and ebony fretboard options are available in the Peavey Custom Shop.
The HP Series is the ultimate refinement of the playability, tone, style and technology Peavey has developed over the past 40 years.
6505* Series Replaces 5150® Guitar Amplifiers
Peavey also introduces its 6505 Series guitar amplifiers, named in celebration of Peavey's first 40 years, 1965 to 2005. The 6505 is also the relaunch of the 5150® Series, the immensely popular amplifiers Peavey designed with Edward Van Halen.
When Peavey and Van Halen parted ways amicably in December 2004, Van Halen retained the 5150® name while Peavey retained the amp's tone and circuitry. In fact, Peavey made only one alteration to the 5150 before relaunching it as the 6505: changing the logo beneath its metal grille. Rest assured, the signature raw rock tones guitar players have known and loved for the past 14 years are alive, loud and proud in the Peavey 6505 Series.
6505 Series amps feature five 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6GC power amp tubes, with presence and resonance controls and three-band EQ for taming their notorious tone. These amps are available in a standard 120 Watt head (6505 and 6505+) and a 60 Watt 2x12 combo with two Sheffield® loudspeakers (6505 212). The matching 6505 412 cabinets are outfitted with four Sheffield loudspeakers.
Peavey 6505 Series amplifiers will be available in February 2005 from authorized Peavey retailers.
Johnson Introduces Delta Blues Resonator

Johnson has introduced a new guitar to its excellent collection of wood body resonators. Inspired by the craftsmanship of the earliest resonators, the Delta Blues Resonator (JR-410) recalls the most expensive contemporary instruments.
Available in roundneck and squareneck designs, the resonator comes with a 10.5” hand-spun continental cone, a mahogany top, back, neck and sides, and a chrome-plated bell brass coverplate and tailpiece.
The Delta Blues resonator is a knockout with its satin vintage sunburst and cream body binding. The roundneck model is perfect for Delta Blues playing and a myriad of other styles with its slim, fast-action standard guitar neck. The squareneck is modeled similarly to 1930’s resophonic guitars for maximum sustain and playability.
The Delta Blues resonator has a list price of $399.00. For more information on Johnson products, visit johnsongtr.com.
