Venue Profile
Milly’s Tavern

Venue Stats
Capacity: 100
Genres: All
For a place named after a dog, Milly’s Tavern has become one of the most well-known venues in New Hampshire due to the great booking, stage, audiences and (no surprise) the beer. With famous artists like Blues Traveler’s John Popper taking the stage, Milly’s is a smart show in New Hampshire. Recently adding shows on Tuesdays and greatly expanding their beer lines (14 on tap with a supposedly killer Pumpkin Ale) there are, of course, some policies that you should know beforehand, straight from Milly’s owner and booker, Peter Telge.
“Bring at least 100+ (21+) people to your show. If that’s not possible get a few other local bands to play with you who can bring at least 30-40 people each. You can determine your own coverage charge. ($5-$15). You need a person to take the money and check I.D.’s at the door, or we can supply one for an extra $75. If this doesn’t seem like a good fit, don’t book. Also, be sure to advertise to local press.”

New Hampshire probably isn’t the first place you think of when you think of country music, but tell that to Jonathan Scott and his band The Blazing Hearts who won the 2008 award for New Country Band of the Year. The competition took place on September 17 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and was sponsored by the North American Country Music Association. In addition, Scott was given the award for National Male Vocalist and National Male Entertainer. They will be playing shows in various locations throughout New Hampshire during the month of November.
