The 9th annual International Acoustic Music Awards is currently accepting submissions. Artists can compete to win radio and web exposure, as well as the grand prize of $11,000 in merchandise and services. First prizes in all categories will win $900 worth of merchandise and services, and runners up will receive a $600 package. All prize winners and runners up will receive a track on an IAMA compilation CD that is sent out to radio stations.
Last year the grand prize was awarded to the youngest ever top winner, 18-year old Maddy Rodriguez, for her original, “All The Wasted Time.”
The entry process is relatively simple. Artists must send in one original, acoustic piece postmarked by November 9, 2012 or earlier. Categories to enter include Folk/Americana/Roots, AAA/Alternative, Instrumental, Open/AOG, Country/Bluegrass, Best Group/Duo, Best Male Artist, and Best Female Artist. Contestants may enter as many songs in as many categories as desired, although each song will cost an entry fee of $35.
