Teen angst singer turned electronic dub-step master Skrillex (read our interview here) is adding yet another role to his long list of achievements: film composer. Yes, the 24-year-old king of electro noise is set to score the latest Harmony Korine-directed movie, called Spring Breakers, starring James Franco, Selena Gomez, and Vanessa Hudgens.
The plot focuses on a group of college girls who rob a restaurant to pay for their spring break, then get bailed out of jail by a drug and arms dealer (Franco) who wants them to do some dirty work. While the storyline doesn’t sound particularly promising, the combination of former Disney stars and James Franco seems like an odd enough recipe to deserve a soundtrack composed from the DJ’s mind-rattling music.
