Passim Brings Live Music to the Streets

Passim, known for its rich history of introducing emerging artists to the Boston community, will once again bring live music outside and into the neighborhood with two free concert series, the Passim and Boston Properties Summer Concert Series in Kendall Square at Cambridge Center Plaza starting May 16 and the Passim/Berklee Summer Music Series on Palmer Street in Harvard Square starting June 21. Passim will also be hosting a stage this Sunday, May 6 at the annual Harvard Square Mayfair.

The Passim and Boston Properties Summer Concert Series returns to Kendall Square’s Cambridge Center Plaza in the courtyard of the Marriott Wednesday afternoons at 1 p.m. starting on May 16. Beginning June 21, Passim and the Berklee School of Music will join hands for the Passim/Berklee Summer Music Series on Palmer Street in Harvard Square (just outside the front doors of Passim)   every Thursday at noon through September 6. The series is presented with The Harvard Square Business Association, Ben & Jerry’s of Harvard Square and the Cambridge Arts Council, the series will showcase some of the most accomplished students and recent grads coming out of the Berklee School of Music, spanning all genres of music.

This Sunday, May 6, Passim kicks off the summer early by hosting one of the premiere stages at the 29th annual Harvard Square Mayfair. From noon to 6:00pm, the Passim stage will present non-stop performances by Jeff Conley, Todd Thibaud, Dietrich Strause, Amy Correia, The Kristen Ford Band, and Madam Macadam.  The Harvard Square Mayfair features entertainment from live music, dance, and street performances as well as 200+ artisans and merchants offering handmade, vintage, recycled, costume, antique, and sidewalk sale items.
