Levon Helm Dead at 71

Sad news today, The Band’s drummer and vocalist, Levon Helm, passed away at the age of 71 after a long battle with cancer.

“Levon Helm passed peacefully this afternoon,” his rep says. “He was surrounded by family, friends and bandmates and will be remembered by all he touched as a brilliant musician and a beautiful soul.”
