LABEL PROFILE: Filament Opens Roster to Indie Bands

With a year of success under their belts, the owners of Filament Records announce a few new open slots on their roster, offering up the chance for hard working bands to join the label. While independent artists struggle to keep up with both the artistic and business sides of their craft, they often hope for the opportunity to just get a label or booking agent to listen to them.

Filament Records is doing just that for hard rock bands worldwide. Actively looking to sign new acts, A&R reps and the label owner himself are listening to hundreds of CDs, filtering through one-sheets and checking out band websites. Additionally, C&A, a full service booking agency, offers booking contracts to all artists signed by Filament.

“When we got together all we needed was a label with the same vision and the resources to bring our music to a broader audience.  When Filament came around, we knew we had found that label. Filament understands what we’re about, what we’re trying to do,” says Justin Womble of Modena.

Label owner Tony Andrews says of Filament’s current roster, “Our bands are not only amazing musicians and songwriters, they have the drive and the ‘whatever it takes’ and ‘can-do’ attitude that it takes to succeed in the music industry. Their songs are current, relevant and yet respectful to their influences. All in all, just plain old good rock music. Every band we sign will have these qualities.”

Already working promotion, radio, licensing and distribution for three of Carolina’s most prominent acts, Irvine, Modena and Crossing Yellow Lines, Filament is known for signing only solid bands with high quality recordings, and treating those bands with respect. Says Charles Morgan of Irvine, “They have walked our path as musicians on the road, as well as have recorded albums themselves. The label is new, but behind it is years of experience. Filament is committed to achieving or surpassing the industry standards of a quality product.”
